I have collaborated with others in and outside my own institution to create logos that tell their scientific story.
Dr. Elizabeth Ottesen Lab
As a graduate student in Dr. Elizabeth Ottesen’s Lab at the University of Georgia, I designed a lab logo to represent our research interests in microbial ecology. Below you can see draft iterations of the logo. Dr. Ottesen and her lab studies complex microbial interactions in the environment. This includes projects in gut microbiome stability using insect models, and antimicrobial resistance gene prevalence in urban waters.
University of Georgia Department of Microbiology
Here I incorporated a diverse range of research interests into one, cohesive image. Worked with other graduate students. I was key in the design given my Illustrator skills and took charge in creating image versions for different purposes such as web or print.
COVID-19 Risk Assessment Tool
I was contracted by Dr. Joshua Weitz at the Georgia Institute of Technology and his global collaborators to design a logo for their COVID-19 Risk Assessment Tool as seen in their social media profiles. For this project, I was sole designer and worked back and forth with the research group to create a graphic describing their tool’s utility. The gallery below shows drafts and text options for the logo.
Dr. Joy O’Keefe Lab
I worked with Dr. Joy O’Keefe and lab members at University of Illinois to design a logo for her lab and their interests in human-wildlife interactions. This logo can be seen on her lab’s homepage.
